Ellistree's first war took place during the opening of Ahn'Qiraj. There had been rumors and then confirmation that the Old God C'thun had been gathering forces behind the old Kingdom of the Quiraji and that prompted both the Alliance and the Horde to take action in order to stop him.
Ellistree was a novice at this point and was very excited to be part of the war. However, her status prevented her from seeing much of the frontlines and was moved to grunt duty, gathering supplies and transportation of goods. Regardless, once the actual war began, the factions took all takers, they would need them against the mighty force of the Quiraji and their Old God Masters. While she didn't take part in the final assault, Ellistree did much in the field itself when fighting against the invasion crystals that teleported the armies nearby major cities and locations of interest.
The next war Ellistree participated in was the assault on Outlands. This time around she had done much battling in smaller skirmishes for resources like the Warsong Gulch vying for lumber, or in the Arathi Basin fighting for the rich resources the lands provided. Outlands proved to be a bit too much still for the newly ranked Corporal as she met with beings she had never encountered before as well as her first taste of the formidable Burning Legion. Even so, she fouth in many of the battlezones down to the last bastion against the dreaded Black Temple. Again, she wasn't allowed to take part in the final assault against Illidan, but she still gave it her all against all odds during this particular war.
It was in the third war she participated on that Ellistree's full potential was unleashed. Having participated in many of the war games, and the arena events, she had managed to gain recognition and had climbed the ranks. Now a Lietenant, Ellistree made her way towards the war in the North against the Scourge and the Lich King. She had failed to assist the war effort against the first invasion of the Necropolis due to injuries she had sustained at the beginning so this time she was aching to prove herself against one of Azeroth's darkest foes.
During this particular war, she took part in the major assault such as the destruction of the dread necropolis Naxxaramas, the discovery and exploration expedition in Ulduar and even took part in the Trial of the Crusader set up by the valiant Argent Crusade, the first vanguard against the forces of the Scourge. While her team wasn't the one to deliver the final blow to the dreaded Lich King, she and her assigned squadron were a part of the initial assault against the dark citadel of Icecrown, the Frozen Throne. Her participation in this war made her recognition soar, even if there still was prejudice against people of her background.
The latest war, prior to the discovery of Pandaria, that Ellistree took part in happened unexpectedly when the Cataclysm occurred. While she hadn't planned to take part in any wars at this time, the destruction brought about by the Dragon Aspect of death was too much for her to sit idly on the sidelines. As such, she took up her mantle and arms and made her way to the frontlines alongside the guild she had been part of during the invasion of Northrend. This war had been devastating to both sides and still... And still the opposing factions made things harder by pitching a third point in the war by fighting each other while fighting a much greater threat.
Ellistree didn't take part in the skirmishes against the Horde both out of respect for former allies and out of annoyance that these factions were acting like children in a time that they should had been banding together to ease their losses and defeat Deathwing sooner. Her part in this war was very tiring and heavy, manning the frontlines as both a recon and stealth specialist as well as a field healer. During this time, she focused more on the tasks that would bring them closer to victory than trying to get recognition. At this point in her life, she had realized that the priorities of either faction didn't lie with the people as she had hoped for many years. It had always been discriminatory grudges to which she wanted no part of.
All in all, she took part in the final assault against Deathwing and managed to survive the encounter in the heart of the Maelstrom to bring peace to Azeroth once again. For the time being anyways. Afterwards, Elli had taken retirement until the announcement that a new continent had been discovered and that they were seeking explorers. Thinking that it would be more about exploring that fighting, Ellistree decided to join this expedition into the mysterious continent of Pandaria.
On her world's prejudice againt halfbreeds:
Azeroth had always been a heavily racist world. Even amongst allies, the friendliness can sometimes be out of convenience specially for such races as the Kaldorei, or Night Elves who had mostly always been rather xenophobic, not trusting the 'lesser' races because of their barbaric ways. (This even included the races of the Alliance.)
That said, the fact that Ellistree was not only a half-elf, but that her other half was with a troll of all things was just outrageous and disgusting to most races, in particular to the Night Elves who had always hated the trolls in particular. Even through all of this, she found more solace within the Horde (Before Garrosh became the Warchief) than she did with the Alliance and yet she had chosen to follow her mother's path and serve within the alliance in an attempt to prove herself in a more hard environment against her kin.
She still monnlighted for the Horde, but most of her mission had always been for the Alliance.
